Juventus are at risk of being banned from European competitions for at least a year as a result of their on-going legal issues, reports detail.

La Repubblica details how the FIGC public prosecutor’s office are ready to ask for a 40-day extension for their investigation into Juventus. Under the spotlight are the club’s secret player salary agreements and the inflation of player transfer values to falsify capital gains, which could be merged into a single case for the sporting trial.

The new Juventus CEO Maurizio Scanavino has already met with FIGC president Gabriele Gravina, who is now waiting to meet new president Gianluca Ferrero. The Lega Serie A assembly will take place tomorrow, where this topic will be discussed.

The UEFA executive committee will meet this afternoon at their headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. The football body will only take action against Juventus at the end of the sporting trials in Italy, reacting to the final verdicts. Should the accusations be proven true, the Old Lady could be excluded from European competitions by UEFA for at least one year.
