According to the latest reports, Juventus are eager to buy Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid, but for less than half the previously-agreed price.

The 29-year-old had joined in the summer of 2020 on a two-year loan at a cost of €20m plus an option to buy in June 2022 for a further €35m.

The Spain international has made 34 competitive appearances this season in the Juve jersey, scoring eight goals and contributing six assists.

He is happy to remain, especially as his wife is Italian, after negotiations for a Barcelona move broke down in January.

Calciomercato.com claim that Juventus have told Atletico Madrid they are ready to buy Morata outright, but want a big discount on the initial deal.

The proposal they put forward is just €15m plus performance-related bonuses, so less than half the original €35m fee.

More negotiations are expected, but Juve are confident that Atletico Madrid don’t want Morata back and the club will struggle to find other buyers with those figures too.
