La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Juventus rejected Massimiliano Allegri’s request to terminate his contract, valid until 2025, through the payment of €14m gross, rather than €20m.

Page 12 of Monday’s printed edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport reports Juventus have refused an offer from their ex-coach Allegri to terminate their agreement by receiving €14m gross.

Allegri was sacked by the Serie A giants two days after a Coppa Italia Final against Atalanta. Juventus did beat La Dea, but Allegri’s anger erupted after the final whistle when he raged at directors and even a journalist in the mixed zone.

The club said Allegri was fired for disciplinary reasons but the Italian tactician still has a year left in his contract at the Allianz Stadium.

According to Gazzetta, both parties want to avoid going to court, so they must reach an agreement over Allegri’s payout.

However, the Serie A giants want to pay less than €14m gross, as Allegri requested.

The Livorno-born coach should receive €20m gross until the end of his contract in June 2025.

The Italian tactician spoke for the first time after his sacking on Monday, sharing his thoughts on Nicolò Fagioli who has recently returned from a seven-month ban for gambling.
