Juventus reignite interest in Sassuolo talisman Berardi

Various media reports suggest that Juventus have started to seriously consider making a move for Domenico Berardi this month.

Major papers La Gazzetta dello Sport, Corriere dello Sport and Tuttosport – as well as online outlets like TMW – all detail the Bianconeri’s interest in the 29-year-old Italian winger, who has long been appreciated by the club.

Sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli wants to add Berardi to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad but his €30m price tag makes a definitive transfer difficult for Juventus, meaning a deal depends on Sassuolo’s willingness to allow players in exchange.

Gazzetta notes that the Bianconeri could try to include either Samuel Iling-Junior or Matias Soule to try and lower the costs, whilst Corriere dello Sport highlights how they could try to set up a deal similar to the one that brought Manuel Locatelli to Turin – a two-year loan with an obligation to buy clause attached.

TMW reports that part of Juventus’ interest in Berardi is linked to the difficult negotiations with Chelsea for Romelu Lukaku. Dusan Vlahovic does not want to leave the Old Lady and his refusal creates a clear roadblock for any deal.
