Juventus have reportedly started to think about making a move for Sassuolo’s Domenico Berardi as they look for a replacement for Angel Di Maria.

The Argentine veteran officially left the Bianconeri yesterday after his one-year contract drew to a close, leaving a gap in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.

Timothy Weah joined Juventus from Lille this week but he was brought in to be the replacement for Juan Cuadrado, meaning the club are still looking to the market to fill the void left behind after Di Maria’s departure.

Page two of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Juventus have reignited their interest in Berardi, with new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli a fan of the Italian winger.

The Bianconeri seriously considered making a move for the 28-year-old last year and now are again thinking about a possible move.

Lazio were keen to pick up Berardi this summer but moved away due to Sassuolo’s €30m price tag, something that’s less of a problem in Turin.

Juventus are now carefully evaluating a possible move and could contact Sassuolo soon. One small aspect that could help convince Berardi is the presence of former teammate Francesco Magnanelli, who has left the Neroverdi coaching staff to work with Allegri.
