Juventus ready to try again for Berardi

Juventus could try again to swoop for Sassuolo veteran Domenico Berardi in the January transfer window, hoping to get a similar instalment plan to previous deals.

It is no secret that the Bianconeri tried to secure Berardi over the summer, but by failing to get an agreement early, it prompted Sassuolo to slam the door shut.

Now Tuttosport claims they will give it another attempt in January, with various different scenarios slotting into place.

The most important is getting Sassuolo to agree a loan with obligation to buy, which they have already given Juventus in the past for Manuel Locatelli.

That allows Juve to spread the cost over several years and get the player straight away.

Their asking price for Berardi is at least €30m, especially as he is their captain and has a contract until June 2027.

The 29-year-old Italy international had already been co-owned by Juventus, when the rules still allowed that kind of deal, from 2013 to 2015, but never played for the Bianconeri.
