Juventus can now turn their full focus towards securing Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta, also tracked by Liverpool, and could introduce a new player as part of the deal.

It has been well known for months that the Dutch international has set his sights on a transfer to Turin and because of that confidence, the Bianconeri were able to get other deals done first.

They are completely rebuilding the midfield for new coach Thiago Motta, picking up Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa and OGC Nice star Khephren Thuram.

Now Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà believes the time has come for director Cristiano Giuntoli to complete the Koopmeiners swoop.

Koopmeiners only wants Juventus

The asking price is €50m plus bonuses, a fair request after he contributed 15 goals and seven assists in 51 competitive games last season, helping them win the Europa League and reach the Coppa Italia Final.

An injury ruled him out of the Netherlands squad going to EURO 2024.

Liverpool had been showing an interest in the 26-year-old for months too, but even with new Dutch coach Arne Slot, the player remains focused on Juventus.

It had been suggested they could try to lower the cost by including Dean Huijsen in the deal, but now Sportitalia point to a different defender in the form of Daniele Rugani.

The versatile centre-back turns 30 later this month and recently signed a new contract to June 2026.

He was also linked with Genoa, Ajax and Al-Shabab in the Saudi Pro League.
