Juventus finally kick off their battle against their off-pitch issues as they prepare for the preliminary hearing by the Court of Turin in the Prisma investigation.
Calciomercato.com details how the Bianconeri’s preliminary hearing at the Court of Turin will begin on Monday March 27, with judge Marco Picco overseeing proceedings. A number of key decisions will be made in this hearing, starting with the indictments.
Judge Picco will have to decide whether or not to indict the 12 former executives and directors of Juventus accused of being involved in the club’s alleged financial malpractice. Among these are Andrea Agnelli, Pavel Nedevd, Maurizio Arrivabene and Fabio Paratici.
Prosecutors Mario Bendoni and Marco Gianoglio, who conducted the investigation into Juve’s accounts, will support the indictment.
Another element that Judge Picco will have to rule on is related to territorial jurisdiction, deciding if the trial should remain in Turin or be moved to Milan or Rome. This decision could be referred to the Court of Cassation, something that would lengthen the investigation’s time-span.
Also taking place will be the possible inclusion of civil plaintiffs. In addition to Consob and the Agenzia delle Entrate, both of whom have been identified as offended parties, just under 30 minority Juventus shareholders will also ask join the preliminary hearing.
