Juventus are leading the race to sign Roma talent Nicolo Zaniolo this summer and they’re prepared for a new meeting with the Giallorossi.

It won’t be easy to pull off a deal for the 22-year-old Italian forward this summer but the Bianconeri are ready to try, keen to add the talent to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad in Turin. Zaniolo had a complicated season under Jose Mourinho and so far he’s not put pen to paper on a contract renewal, leaving his current deal to expire in 2024.

As reported by Tuttosport, both Juventus and Roma are keen to iron out a deal for Zaniolo this summer and it’s likely that a compromise will be reached to make everyone happy; the Giallorossi want around €50-60m for the 22-year-old, whilst the Bianconeri don’t want to pay over €40m plus add-ons.

The two parties will meet to further discuss a deal and Brazilian midfielder Arthur could be included in a possible agreement.

  1. Haters gonna hate, but Juventus building a core of young Italian talent is likely only going to be good for the Italian national team in the long run. It’s no surprise that the best Italian teams typically coinvided with the spine of the team largely coming from Juve – hence the term Italjuve. The seaons around which Juventus won the Scudetto typically coincided with years that Italy won international titles – and, as much as haters might want to say that Juventus plays very conservative football – especially in the context of the modern game, the truth is that the defensive, methodical approach that is synonymous with the Italian style of football is not really inferior to the kind of tiki taka or gengenpress that have been so popular with fans recently – the problem is that it needs a very disciplined, united and committed approach and that means having a consistent and squad to implement it.

So before the critics of Allegri inevitably come out with their childish criticisms of the playing style, it’s important to consider first if the kind of catenaccio that saw Italy become world beaters so many times has really had the kind of players and commitment to see it flourish in recent years. I would argue that because none of the teams in Serie A, most of all Juve, have had the plan or players to develop it, it hasn’t been possible recently. But given time, and a stronger Italian representation at Juve, in the long run, Italy, via Juventus, will come back again. Naturally, Catenaccio needs some good offensive outlets to capitalize on the strong defensive play and I believe that with skillful and fast players like Zanniolo and Chiesa amongst others, Italy will benefit. Therefore, I for one, hope that this deal goes through because none of the other teams in Serie A are really capable or as historically important to the Italian national team as Juve.

  2. The only players Juve has who is as good as Pelligrini, Zaniolo and Spina are Chiesa and Vlahović. Roma don’t need any other Juve players and they won’t give either of those players to Roma so they will have to come up with 5 million

  3. Don’t worry Roma fans
Juve will sell Rabiot and Arthur to some Premier League clubs and pay your club and take Zaniolo who’ll be wasted at Roma
    Chill

  4. As a Roma supporter, Juventus would win this deal. Chiesa and Zaniolo on the wings with Vlahovic as the CF looks pretty good. I don’t like giving Inter 15% of the deal. No Arthur,McKennie or Moura will make Roma better. Roma should of kept Cenzig Under for Mourinho to work with. Stupid if Roma would sell Ibanez. We should sell Crisante to Milan for the right price. He’s too predictable and a half second late for everything. Should buy Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina, even if it’s 25-30mill. Look what he does at Fiorentina and even Torreira would be a good buy for cover. No Ronaldo, No Xhaka, Senesi, Solbakken,Oliviera + no ELS,Perez,Diawara,Kluivert,Darboe
