Juventus rage at Rabiot disaster with Villarreal

Adrien Rabiot was extremely fortunate to avoid a red card just moments after his error allowed Villarreal to equalise, sparking fury from Juventus fans, teammates and coach Max Allegri.

The midfielder was responsible for the goal, as he was caught ball-watching and allowed Dani Parejo to make the run behind him, volleying in the Capoue ball over the top completely undisturbed.

According to Canale 5 pitch-side reporters, Allegri had only just warned him about those runs behind him a coupe of minutes before the goal.

Teammate Matthijs de Ligt was also furious, shouting at Rabiot that he shouldn’t have allowed the run.

A few minutes after that howler, Rabiot was very lucky that VAR did not intervene to suggest upgrading his yellow card to a red, as he raked his studs down the knee of Samu Chukwueze.

Juventus fans vented their rage on social media, some even suggesting he should be sold during the match without waiting for the final whistle.

Others pointed out Juve were unlucky that Rabiot wasn’t sent off, as it might’ve improved the team’s overall performance.
