According to reports in France, Bologna coach Thiago Motta is the new hot favourite to take over from Max Allegri at Juventus next season.

It is no secret that the success of the Rossoblu this term is attracting interest from several big clubs, including Milan, Napoli and Barcelona.

Now Footmercato claim that Juve have put Thiago Motta at the top of their wish list to take the team forward beyond the Allegri era.

This also fits into the recent suggestions from Allegri and agent Giovanni Branchini that they are waiting for the club before knowing if he will be confirmed until the current contract expires in June 2025.

New director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli is an admirer of Thiago Motta and had already approached him last summer when Napoli had to replace Luciano Spalletti.

Thiago Motta’s contract with Bologna only runs to the end of the current campaign and an extension seems unlikely considering all the attention he is drawing.

The Rossoblu consolidated fourth place in Serie A with a 2-1 comeback win away to Atalanta at the weekend and are on track to qualify for the Champions League.
