Juventus sporting director Federico Cherubini said ‘there has been no signal’ from Cristiano Ronaldo regarding a move away from the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus are making big changes at Continassa this summer, and patron Andrea Agnelli presented the new management at the Old Lady in a press conference today.

Maurizio Arrivabene has been appointed new CEO of the club and Federico Cherubini has replaced Fabio Paraticis as the club’s sporting director.

One of the biggest stories of the summer is the future of Portugal captain Ronaldo, who has been linked with a move away from Turin.

But the new sporting director, Cherubini, said there’s no sign of a transfer and that the Bianconeri expect the 36-year-old to return after his holidays.

“There has been no signal from Ronaldo,” Cherubini said at a press conference. “Especially the rumours that there should be a transfer and there’s no sign from Juventus in this regard.

“Last season he scored 36 goals in 44 games, the numbers don’t always say everything but hide many truths, we are happy that Ronaldo will join the team as soon as he has finished his holidays.”

When asked again about Ronaldo’s future, Cherubini clarified: “I don’t have the crystal ball, but right now there are no signals regarding a possible transfer.”

President Andrea Agnelli also analysed the impact of the Portuguese ace in Turin in his three-year spell at the club: “It was the first operation where multiple departments of the club were involved. It’s an operation that, as of today, has had a positive COVID-free adjusted MPV.

“Starting from here, we’ll make our assessments also from a technical perspective. You cannot field teams based on commercial needs. Every operation has its value, also commercially and for the messages delivered. [Weston] McKennie is an example with his attention regarding issues that are very much debated right now, just to make a different example.”
