Juventus are interested in making a move for Kalidou Koulibaly should he not renew his contract with Napoli and their plan to secure him involves Merih Demiral.

The 30-year-old Senegalese defender is currently in talks with Partenopei president Aurelio De Laurentiis regarding a contract renewal, as his current deal expires next year in 2023. Napoli are looking to lower their wage bill by a significant amount and their offer to Koulibaly hasn’t proved convincing so far.

As reported by Tuttosport, should Koulibaly not renew with Napoli, Juventus would look to come forward for the 30-year-old. Their plan would be to include Merih Demiral, who is unlikely to be permanently signed by Atalanta, in a possible exchange deal.

The 30-year-old Koulibaly has been with Napoli since 2014 and is keenly involved with both the city and fans, so it’s likely that he’d be hesitant to accept a move to the Bianconeri, although examples such as Gonzalo Higuain show that it’s impossible to rule out.

  1. Don’t focus so much on age. Koulibaly is one of the best in the world. Him together with De light would be pretty good.

  2. No way are the cheapskates paying a fee. They will wait for him to go free, then a bigger club will swoop in. They tried to play games with Rudiger, but when Real came calling it was a no brainer. Do you play with Ancelotti, a legend, or PhD Max. One has 4 CL titles and the other has 2 winners runners up medals.

  3. Don’t see ADL accepting a deal like this, specially when you consider you are reinforcing a public enemy after Higuain debacle. Anyway, Koulibaly is a big earner in Napoli with around 6-7m so I am not sure how tempting can be a move to Juventus since they won’t pay him that money or more
