Juventus plot January deal for Icardi amid rumours of disagreements with Messi

According to Tuttosport, Juventus hope to sign Mauro Icardi in January with the former Inter captain not on good terms with Leo Messi and struggling with playing time in Paris.

Juventus are desperate for goals and are on the lookout for a new striker in the January transfer window.

The Bianconeri have only scored 23 goals in 16 Serie A games this season, the worst record among the top ten in the league.

They’ve been linked with a host of strikers, including Edinson Cavani and Dusan Vlahovic, but according to Tuttosport, Icardi is a more feasible option.

First of all, Juventus can afford the salary of the Argentinean striker and hope to sign him on a six-month loan with an option to buy.

Secondly, Icardi is reportedly not on good terms with Leo Messi and has been struggling with playing time at the Parc des Princes, having only scored three goals in 18 appearances across all competitions.

According to Tuttosport, intermediaries are already working to make the deal happen, although PSG would want to include an obligation to buy in the deal.

Juventus could also offer their out-of-favour midfielder Arthur who is looking for an escape route from the Allianz Stadium.
