According to Tuttosport, Juventus hope to sign Mauro Icardi in January with the former Inter captain not on good terms with Leo Messi and struggling with playing time in Paris.

Juventus are desperate for goals and are on the lookout for a new striker in the January transfer window.

The Bianconeri have only scored 23 goals in 16 Serie A games this season, the worst record among the top ten in the league.

They’ve been linked with a host of strikers, including Edinson Cavani and Dusan Vlahovic, but according to Tuttosport, Icardi is a more feasible option.

First of all, Juventus can afford the salary of the Argentinean striker and hope to sign him on a six-month loan with an option to buy.

Secondly, Icardi is reportedly not on good terms with Leo Messi and has been struggling with playing time at the Parc des Princes, having only scored three goals in 18 appearances across all competitions.

According to Tuttosport, intermediaries are already working to make the deal happen, although PSG would want to include an obligation to buy in the deal.

Juventus could also offer their out-of-favour midfielder Arthur who is looking for an escape route from the Allianz Stadium.

  1. Man what has happened to Juves management – their decisions the past few years have been horrendous, and now they’re about to make another one.

  2. Yep from one car crash to potentially another one. Do not forget they get Wanda as well so 2 in 1 special.

  3. This is as good a striker as Juve can get in January. Vlahovic was always going to be too expensive and Fiorentina hate Juve. Maybe wait until the summer but even that is difficult
    I say go for it!
He seems like a bit of a trouble maker, but if he scores goals all will be forgotten.
Need a good MF signing too.

  4. @Chris: Fiorentina ownership had a rivalry with juBentus until Rocco took over! Or have you forgotten the sweet deal he has made for Chiesa?! Commisso is a self-declared fan of the Old Lady.

I`m so sorry for the Viola fans…

  5. Do Inter still get an extra payment if he goes to a Seria a club? The director’s best ever bit of business was the sale of Icardi to PSG, things have been improving constantly since.

  6. Probably the best striker we’ll be able to get in January? If it’s a dry 6 months loan, let’s do it. Ramsey and Arthur out, Icardi and Van de Beek in (all on loan): would be an acceptable winter transfer season.

  7. It does not matter what striker Juve buys/loans as this will not resolve anything because the primary issue they have is a weak midfield. This January a minimum of one top level midfielder and a new RB to replace Sandro is needed and then the issues of scoring will sort itself out.

  8. All I know is PSG really want rid of him and isn’t just because of his alleged arguments with Messi. He’s played in 14 matches out of 18 and has 3 goals.

  9. Allegri always gets the best out of trouble maker strikers – remember Tevez? Cassano? Balotelli ? The only way I would get Icardi is if he will celebrate if he scores against Inter. If he does that then he will prove his allegiance to the black and blue!

  10. Icardi is proven striker and he knows Italian Serie-A more than anyone as he had successful time at Inter , Hence would be much than the Morata – Dybala who are under achievers and injury shy

  11. Forget this clown and focus on hunting a playmaker. We need creativity in midfield. We need Van De Beek!

  12. How can you compare Tevez (highest determination & workrate possible for a striker) to the other talented but lazy players that ruined their careers? Tevez is a great professional, he just had enough of living in England.

Sorry but Icardi said goodbye to his professional career when he faked an injury and refused to help his team due to some ego trip.

HAHHAHAHA can`t wait for the dressing room drama! Hope Piemonte Calcio are fool enough to waste their budget again.

  13. To the Inter people who think Juve will buy Icardi, get a grip of yourselves. Juve will take him on loan for 6 months as a stop gap until they get their real striker target which is Vlahovic. Icardi will then be promptly sent back to PSG and Inter will get diddly squat. If Icardi comes to Juve on loan it will be fantastic when Icardi scores the winner against Shinter and celebrates – it would be priceless.

  14. @forzajuvesempre. Why would you want to get rid of Arthur, your STAR SEVENTY TWO MILLION euro player? Oh wait…vecchia vecchia vecchia vecchia e, vecchiaaa ladronaaa…

  15. @Tony, lol yep. It’ll be Wanda at San Remo next year.

@Mustafa Aliraza, I’m not sure about Icardi, but Wanda DEFINITELY knows Serie A more than anyone…

  16. @Dan

I’ll tell you what happened! The day we got rid of Giuseppe Marotta is what happened, our loss was Inter‘s gain!
