Juventus are considering making a move for Roma talent Nicolo Zaniolo should Paulo Dybala leave this summer.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward is reportedly set to leave the Bianconeri when his contract expires at the end of this season, leaving a huge hole in the team’s attack. Juventus have been planning for this eventuality for a while now and one player has always been on their minds – Zaniolo.

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Juventus have identified Zaniolo as their top option to replace Dybala, should the Argentinian leave this summer. The plan revolves around the upcoming transfer window, as it would be impossible for them to secure his signature in the remaining two weeks of this month’s transfer market.

Roma are looking to renew Zaniolo’s contract, which currently expires in 2024, and negotiations will resume in February, but there’s a chance that he won’t put pen to paper. And even if he does, Juventus would still look to sign the talented Italian forward anyway.

  1. Replacing a left-footed, injury prone ex-wonderkid who never realised his potential with another left-footed, injury prone ex-wonderkid who never realised his potential.

    Okay.

  2. The mismanagement at Juve is horrendous. No patience. They always ship their best players instead of getting rid of their truly dead weight like Rabiot, Ramsey and Bentancur. Arthur now also who has looked better recently in attack but was out for a lengthy period. Ship the few players that have actually been creating the plays and scoring goals for you. You can’t build a strong team like this. All great teams have key players they build a team around with a certain philosophy of play. You will always be rebuilding Juve. Good luck to you.

  3. Look at all these Juventini calling Zaniolo “ex-wonderkid”, did you guys forget the reason that Zaniolo couldn’t reach his potential at the moment is because your team gave him his first serious injury two years ago with that nasty intentional foul by de Ligt?

Anyway, dream on, Roma won’t sell him.

  4. @Romanista: Regarding that injury, it’s that Joke of a Field at the Olimpico that needs to be ripped out and redone. Must I remind you that the Olimpico has had the most ACL injuries and if you talk about Zaniolo what about Demiral and Chiese for Juve ???
