Juventus have a plan to sign key target Angel Di Maria, who is also in talks with an interested Barcelona.

The 34-year-old Argentinian forward is leaving Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer this month after seven years in the French capital. He is ready for one more adventure in Europe before returning to South America, and the Bianconeri are incredibly keen to pick him up.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Di Maria is asking for a one-year contract worth €9m and Juventus have a strategy to pull the deal off. The idea is to tie him to the club for two fiscal years, releasing him after just 13 months in order to take advantage of the Growth Decree.

The Turin side are hoping that the idea proves convincing enough to the 34-year-old Argentinian forward, who could also make the move over to Spain.

This season, Di Maria scored five goals and provided eight assists in 26 Ligue 1 appearances.

  1. Now they are being linked to Berardi. Pathetic how the club has declined so far. All this talk about Molina, Udogie and others were all fake. How can two wing backs arrive when they are under 25. PhD Max wants young men who are over 34.

  2. Berardi is far more effective than di maria. Last season numbers are there to prove my point. Why is the old lady after an old guy like di maria , when a far more younger and effective player like berardi is there for the taking. I don’t see the rationale in taking di maria over Berardi.

  3. The average age for Juve squad is 27. I don’t see any problem for them.

Players can play for longer and longer, so 34 is not what it was for 10-15 years ago.
