According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus have sounded out Mohamed Salah’s availability, but the deal remains complicated mainly due to financial reasons.

The Egypt international is one of Juventus’ primary targets to replace Paulo Dybala who will leave the Bianconeri at the end of his contract in June.

Salah’s contract with Liverpool expires in June 2023 and talks to extend his stay at the club have not progressed over the last few months. According to the Italian newspaper, Juventus have made preliminary contact with the winger’s entourage to sound out his availability in the summer.

Clearly, it won’t be an easy deal. Salah earns €11m at Anfield and Juventus may not afford a similar fee even by using the growth decree, which would allow the Old Lady to get a tax discount on the gross salary of the player who would return to Italy after five years.

Matthijs de Ligt is the highest earner at Juventus with an €8m-a-year salary plus €4m add-ons, followed by Dusan Vlahovic, who gets €7m per season. That is the maximum salary Juventus can offer to new signings. The Bianconeri are looking to lower their wage bill and although the growth decree may allow the Serie A giants to save on Salah’s gross wages, it may still not be enough to reach the current figures in his Liverpool contract.

  1. In your dreams. He’d leave champions league contenders and a bigger, more prestigiously club for Rubentus?

  2. He would leave a champions league contender but Liverpool are not more prestigious. They are definitely the better team if we look at the past 4 years.
The question is more about wages though and considering Juve ended talks with Dybala due to wages and reports about Juve need to sell before purchasing.

  3. They guy is turning 30. I’m sure Liverpool won’t let him leave on a free, so spending a significant transfer fee on a 30 year old, no matter how good he is, doesn’t strike me as a long-term solution. Though his experience would surely help Chiesa and Vlahovic…

  4. Another higuain in the making.

Atleast we wont be asked dto pay 90 mil, or would they??

stand away from such type of transfers pls.

  5. Probably made up garbage, but if it were true, do Serie A clubs ever learn?

Why do they always take ageing epl players whose best days are coming to an end?

If Salah arrives and Osinhen leaves, then that’s bad for Serie A, not good.

If Juve wanted Salah, they should have gone for him when he was leaving Roma.

  6. Just a ruse to get more from Liverpool.. Don’t think any top 10 player in the world would be coming to serie a. Maybe when he is 34 35… Sad state serie a…. Rejects & over the hill l becoming stars or key players (tomori, lukaku from man u, Maitland Niles,).. Might as well go for Italian youth…

  7. Reading these comment’s is like watching Troll 2!
Juve have won every major International trophy they’ve ever competed in. Which is more than can be said for Liverpool.
Are you guys even fan’s of FI? Has it turned you into bleak, depressive oracle’s or is that just your natural state?
When big or talented players like Osimhen, Ronaldo, Lukaku, Eriksen + Salah choose Serie A. It shows the league’s potential. Italy doesn’t even have to buy them anymore, they grow their own, Chiesa, Vlahovic, Dybala, Atalanta, Berardi, Scamacca..!
All they need is the council’s to let go of the leash + they may have to soon. As I don’t think even they’re stupid enough to stop Italian club’s from growth, if it was going to lead to a true collapse!

  8. Lets just say…. Juve have won 30+ league titles, and Liverpool have won around 20?
Juve have had Balon Dor winners like Platini, Zidane, Nedved and Baggio- Liverpool haven’t.

So the only way Liverpool are a “bigger” club is that they have won more Champions League finals (Juve have been in the final just as many times).
And Ronaldo was a bigger player than Salah and joined Juve.

  9. Buy Salah, I’d rather replace Max Allegri with Pirlo
Just watch Xavi at Barca with all the spanish youngsters coming true playing regularly . While Allegri cant even seems to find space for youngsters. sending them to lower leaques wasting precious talents.
Allegri is a very slow and stuborn coach

  10. @I am not zlatan, 19 league titles, 7 FA Cups, 9 League Cups, 15 Community Shields, 6 Champions League titles (two within the last 25 years, 0 for Juventus), 3 UEFA Cups, 4 European Super Cups, and many more. It is the most trophied club in England. What do you mean less prestigious? Liverpool is as prestigious as they come.

  11. And why are they doing this? They need another Ronaldo? Juve managment will never learn. Give them the trophy for throwing away the most money on players past their prime since they think individuals and not team chemistry win trophies.

  12. I am not big fan of Salah but in my opinion its best player in the world not. Would like to believe these rumours. Its would be crazy if DV7 in center and Chiesa going by left flank and Salah storm in right side, this would be crazy but I dont understand where we can take money from if we always drop from CL so early and always have minus 200 milions in yearly balance?

  13. I am not big fan of Salah like Ronaldo but in my opinion its best player in the world now. Would like to believe these rumours. Its would be crazy if DV7 in center and Chiesa going by left flank and Salah storm in right side, this would be crazy but I dont understand where we can take money from if we always drop from CL so early and always have minus 200 milions in yearly balance? But Ronaldo transfer I call best in Juve history, just he was alreqdy aged…. But we will be proud until we die that best footballer of all time had played with Juventus jersey

  14. I thought we were starting a new ‘project’? Younger players and lower wages? How the heck does a 30 year old on £10million + wages, and on the verge of his best playing days being behind him fit in with that? If this is true then clearly the Juve board are all over the place with their project….. I suspect it is not true.
