Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri has decided not to start Adrien Rabiot in the coming clash with Genoa.

The 28-year-old French midfielder is a core part of Allegri’s squad in Turin and has played almost every available minute this term, only missing out on the 2-1 win over Cagliari due to a yellow-card suspension.

Juventus are working to keep up the pace with league leaders Inter and have the chance to temporarily leapfrog their rivals, putting the pressure on Simone Inzaghi’s squad ahead of their Sundy evening clash with Lazio.

Football Italia have learnt that Rabiot will not be in Allegri’s squad for the clash with Genoa, remaining in the stands of the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. He suffered a minor problem with his right foot and also took a blow to the side in the recent win over Napoli.

The French midfielder tried to work through the pain in training this week, but the decision has been made not to risk him for the match with the Rossoblu.

The rest of the Bianconeri starting lineup is expected to remain the same as the one that beat the defending champions last weekend.

Juventus have only dropped points once in their last eight league matches and Genoa’s recent drop in form suggests that they’ll struggle to find a breakthrough against the Old Lady.
