Juventus defender Mattia De Sciglio is in doubt for Sunday’s game against Venezia due to fatigue in his right thigh.

The Italian defender suffered a minor muscle issue at the end of Monday’s Serie A clash against Sassuolo and Juventus have now confirmed the extent of his injury.

“Mattia De Sciglio underwent diagnostic tests at J|Medical this morning, having indicated discomfort at the end of the match against Sassuolo,” Juventus said in a statement.

“The scan excluded any muscle injuries but highlighted fatigue in his right thigh. His condition will be monitored day by day.”

De Sciglio is likely to miss Sunday’s Serie A clash against Venezia. Juventus are short of options at the back as Danilo has been deployed in central midfield following injuries of Manuel Locatelli, Weston McKennie and Arthur.

Juan Cuadrado has been forced to the sidelines with muscle problems. The Colombia international won’t play against Venezia, but Max Allegri hopes he will return to action against Genoa or, at least, in time for the Coppa Italia Final against Inter on May 11.
