According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Massimiliano Allegri has identified the ‘ideal’ reinforcements for Juventus and has targeted, among the others, Brighton’s Alexis Mac Allister and Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot.
The Bianconeri’s boss will have even more power in the coming months given that the new board of directors named by Exor doesn’t include a ‘sporting figure’ such as vice-president Pavel Nedved in the past.
This means that Allegri and sporting director Federico Cherubini will outline the transfer strategy for January and, potentially, for the summer.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport, Argentina international Mac Allister is one of Allegri’s targets for June even if the potential sale of Weston McKennie in January would pave the way for his signature in the winter transfer window.
According to the report, preliminary talks between Juventus and Brighton have already begun.
Sergej Milinkovic-Savic remains an option in the middle of the park while Allegri will try to persuade Adrien Rabiot to extend his contract at the Allianz Stadium even if the France international will receive offers from England and Spain and will be available as a free agent in June when his contract expires.
Dalot is an option for defence, given that Juan Cuadrado and Alex Sandro are unlikely to renew their current deals expiring in June.
Manchester United have activated a clause to extend the contract of the ex-Milan loanee until June 2024. According to the report, Allegri prefers Dalot to Rick Karsdorp and Ivan Fresneda, but Juventus will need at least two new full-backs either in January or 2023-24.
