Juventus are reported to be negotiating with UEFA to accept exclusion from the 2023-24 Conference League in return for wiping the Financial Fair Play slate clean.

The Bianconeri were docked 10 Serie A points for artificially inflating transfer fees to boost capital gains and therefore balance the books.

This bumped them down from third place to seventh, qualifying for the Europa Conference League.

According to Tuttosport and La Repubblica newspapers, Juve’s new directors are continuing to draw a strong line under the Andrea Agnelli era by trying to repair the bridges he had burned.

This includes leaving the European Super League project and negotiating a plea bargain with UEFA to avoid further Financial Fair Play penalties.

That could mean a large fine or exclusion from the Conference League, an option that Juve wouldn’t particularly mind considering it is not the most prestigious or remunerative competition.

There is some confusion over whether Juve would be replaced by Fiorentina or instead leave a complete lack of Italian representation, as being excluded and accepting a plea bargain are different things.
