The Italian Supercup will be played between Juventus and Napoli on January 20 at Sassuolo’s Mapei Stadium and renamed the PS5 Supercup.

The event was confirmed by the Lega Serie A alongside Sony Interactive Entertainment Italy this evening.

It is traditionally the clash between the Serie A winners and Coppa Italia holders, played on neutral turf.

Usually this is at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, but as it’ll probably be behind closed doors anyway, the venue is moved to the Mapei Stadium in Reggio Emilia.

PlayStation 5 are sponsoring the competition, so it will be named the PS5 Supercup.

“We express great satisfaction for having reached this agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment Italia,” said Luigi De Siervo, CEO of Lega Serie A, “a brand known all over the world with which we share important values and a vision constantly aimed at the future and the new generations.

“The agreement with PlayStation 5 confirms the growth of the international image of the Serie A brand. The PS5 Supercup will be a great event capable of creating enthusiasm, emotions and engagement not only during the match, but also thanks to the many communication and marketing initiatives that will allow us to involve even the younger generations with ad hoc content.”
