Leonardo Bonucci admits that Juventus’ Champions League draw could be considered ‘lucky’, but warns they must respect Monaco.

The defender spoke at today’s Italy Press conference about Bianconero Coach Massimiliano Allegri, who replaced Azzurri CT Antonio Conte in Turin.

“He’s very different from Conte,” Bonucci told assembled media.

“However, I hope at the end of the season we can say that he’s brought us the same joy that Conte did.

“As for myself, I’ve proved people wrong who said that Bonucci cannot play in a back four. Allegri wants aggression on the ball too.

“In the Champions League, Juve have hit our target of reaching the last eight. Maybe we were a bit lucky with the draw, but we have to face Monaco with the utmost respect.

“We need to prepare to the maximum.

“The Coppa Italia is one of our goals too, we want to go to Florence and overturn the result [a 2-1 defeat in the first leg].

“Our defence is strong, the numbers speak for themselves. I’m glad that not only Juventus, but the national team too can count on these players.

“Conte’s teachings have helped a lot, and by playing together more and more we know each other very well.”
