Arthur Melo’s agent confirms he is not staying at Liverpool, but is also ‘not in the plans’ of Juventus, while Denis Zakaria is also returning from Chelsea.

The Bianconeri are in for a troubled summer, as several of the players they sent out on loan with options to buy have not done enough to earn a permanent transfer.

This is going to be a headache for several reasons, as Juve won’t get the money they expected from transfers and also have to find new clubs for these unwanted players.

“Melo will return to Juve. Liverpool said so too and we will probably have to find another solution for him, because he is not in Allegri’s tactical plans,” agent Federico Pastorello told Sky Sport Italia.

“We must work to find a solution. The injury kept him out for four months and he didn’t have much room.”

Liverpool had an option to purchase Brazilian midfielder Melo for €37.5m.

Meanwhile, today Zakaria confirmed via an Instagram post that he is not going to remain at Chelsea after his loan spell expired.

The option to buy was worth €28m plus another €5m in potential performance-related bonuses, but at least Juve did pocket €3m from the one-season loan deal, in which he made 11 competitive appearances for Chelsea and scored one goal.
