Angel Di Maria and Nicolò Zaniolo are on Juventus‘ radars, but the Old Lady will only pick one of them, reports Tuttosport.

Juventus need to replace Paulo Dybala and probably Federico Bernardeschi, who is unlikely to extend his expiring contract at the Allianz Stadium.

Di Maria and Zaniolo are among their targets, but the Old Lady will pick just one of them. On paper, the Bianconeri would prioritise the Italy international, one of the most exciting talents in the country.

However, Roma‘s asking price makes it hard for the Bianconeri to secure his services. According to Tuttosport, Roma want €40-45m plus add-ons, but Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport reported over the last few weeks that the Giallorossi could even ask for €60-70m.

That’s why the Serie A giants haven’t ruled out signing Di Maria who, like Zaniolo, can play as a winger or as an attacking midfielder. The Argentinean star is available as a free agent in June and Juventus would offer him a short deal (one or two years). Di Maria earns more than Zaniolo, but his signing would be cheaper as Juventus would only pay agent fees to secure his signature.

13 thought on “Juventus must choose between Di Maria and Zaniolo”
  1. Report after report of financial problems at Juve but they’re apparently having to choose between one of the hottest Italian youth prospects at the moment and an ageing high earner after buying one of the best strikers in Italy right now for 75m?

  2. Lord Allegri patron of terr0rist f00tball has chosen already: Di Maria to meet his strict tactical demands and slow paced of implementation.

  3. What’s so hard to see? DiMaria on a one year deal is a stop gap for Zaniolo who they will sign the following year on a free.

Zaniolo only has eyes for Juve so it’s not like he is going anywhere else. It’s the Vlahoic situation again. So unless Roma take the money now, they will be losing long term.

  4. @jimmy … you’re mad, the Italian clearly said he prefers going to AC Milan than juve in front of the media, if he becomes a free agent, what’s to stop him from going to a team with a better coach who doesn’t butcher the talent on young players

  5. Is this even a choice? As good as Di Maria was.. he was a good player in 2010s.. he will be 34 soon.. he has won everything there is to win on club level.. what will he add to Juve…

  6. CALMA @I MISS JUVE, put some respect on my name as well as PhD Max, Legend of The Ten Rings. Either player will be a fine addition. Zaniolo will be sharing the same doctor as Flimsey and taking full sick pay. As for Di Maria put some respect on his name as well. He is still a fine player with silky foot work. But he is still too young for PhD Max and will need to learn the back, back, down, down. Sideways Sandro will be a fine mentor in the aspect. On a side not I watched City vs Real and what a game. Such a pleasure to see two teams attacking and brining their A game at 5G speed. 2G Max is a genius as he made sure to lose to the Villarreal to avoid such teams. If he saw that game he would say CALMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

  7. Both have different style of play. Zaniolo is a attacking midfielder and Di Maria is a crosser. Juve need both roles but not exactly this two players. Zaniolo could be a good reinforcement with Cherki or Wirtz, but I will rather see Heung Min Son and Moussa Diaby as crossers.

  8. @Kings 235

Stop saying nonsense AC is a better club once in 10years performance also wait till next season and see a better coach Max is still best coach with those Average middle filders

  9. I’d choose cuadrado over di Maria. Even zaniolo seems overated cos he’s Italian. Now Berardi I’d take. Or look overseas.

  10. Is that really a question ? LOL
Di Maria , 35 years next season 🙂
but to Allegri , The youth is rubbish , he prefers old sticks
