According to Tuttosport, Juventus are keeping tabs on Gabriel Slonina, a 17-year-old goalkeeper under contract with Chicago Fire FC.
Slonina will turn 18 in May and his contract with the MLS side expires at the end of the year, even if Chicago Fire FC have an option to extend his stay at the club for a further year.
Slonina played 11 games in the MLS last term, keeping four clean sheets and conceding 16 goals.
According to the report, Juventus are not the only European club interested in signing the USMNT U20 international.
A product of Chicago Fire FC academy, Slonina made his MLS debut in August 2021 in a 0-0 draw against New York City.
If the promising goalkeeper joins Juventus, he could be added to the U19 team or the U23 which plays in Italy’s third division Serie C.
Stop. Please just stop. At 17, Buffon was keeping clean sheets against Baggio and Weah. This guy’s conceding 16 in 11 games against conference level players. Juve, look elsewhere.
Szczęsny – good goalkeeper – and Mattia Perin isn’t even 30 yet. Look internally first.
Donnaruma was the keeper we should have gotten. The only heir to Buffon.
