Juventus risk seeing their deal for Milan defender Pierre Kalulu fall through after a recent enquiry from Gian Piero Gasperini’s Atalanta, who are also keen to bring another defender in before the close of the transfer window.

tAccording to Football Italia transfer expert Matteo Moretto, Atalanta have made a fresh enquiry to Milan to discuss Kalulu’s availability.

Where Kalulu stands between Milan, Juventus and Atalanta

Earlier this week, Juventus and Milan came to an agreement over the cost and structure of a transfer for the Frenchman. The Bianconeri agreed to pay a fee of €3.5m to bring him in on loan for the season, as well as a buy option worth €14m plus €3m in add-ons and a 10% sell-on clause.

There was also an agreement between Juventus and the player’s entourage over a five-year contract worth around €2.5m per season in wages.

However, Kalulu is taking his time to weigh up his next move. He had a phone call with Juve coach Thiago Motta, who explained the project and the potential role he could play within it, but recent reports suggest that the Old Lady are beginning to grow frustrated with the player’s indecision.

Kalulu is still in training with Milan while various agents and directors discuss a possible exit from San Siro.

Atalanta, meanwhile, are trying to see whether there is any way they can squeeze themselves in between Milan and Juventus.
