Italy international Fabio Miretti has picked up an injury during Juventus’s pre-season training, and is now expected to sit on the sidelines for a number of weeks.

Miretti injured in Juventus pre-season training

The 20-year-old, who earned his first international cap as a teenager in 2022, has suffered a compound fracture in his right foot and is expected to be re-assessed in 15 days time.

Juventus confirmed that their academy graduate has already had a first round of scans and tests at the club’s medical facility, JMedical, and that he will go in for a second round of screenings in just over a fortnight’s time.

Miretti is expected to miss all of Juventus’s pre-season friendlies, including the ones against Brest and Atletico Madrid over the next two weekends, while Gianluca Di Marzio predicts that he will also be a doubt for the Serie A season opener against Como on August 19.

“Fabio Miretti underwent instrumental tests at JMedical this morning, July 29, following a conducive trauma to his right foot, which revealed a compound fracture of the third cuneiform bone. The player will undergo news tests in 15 days,” a statement read on the club website.
