Juventus will stick to Massimiliano Allegri at least until the end of the season after all board members resigned on Monday.

It was an eventful evening in Turin yesterday and many more chaotic days will come as Juventus board members, including President Andrea Agnelli, have resigned following accusations of inflating transfer values, but more importantly, hiding payments to their footballers and staff members during the COVID pandemic.

WILL JUVENTUS BE RELEGATED? WHAT HAPPENS NOW? QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS AFTER BOARD MEMBERS RESIGN

According to Calciomercato.com, Juventus owners have asked Allegri and sporting director Federico Cherubini to stick to their roles until the end of the season.

Allegri signed a €7m-a-year deal in 2021, and his current contract runs out in 2025. Agnelli, a close friend of the coach, strongly wanted his return. The now ex-President continued to defend Allegri even when the Bianconeri faced Champions League elimination in October and most fans called for his sacking.

According to the report, Allegri has ‘expressed doubts at a human level’ after being informed that board members would resign, but accepted to remain in charge at least until the end of the season.

Allegri had had an operative transfer meeting with Cherubini on Monday morning, discussing Juventus’ strategies for January, but after a few hours, it all collapsed with Agnelli and other nine board members resigning.

  3. They can’t fire Allegri now when the slow-ball has finally started to work. Remember, 6 straight wins!
