According to reports in Italy, Juventus have identified Zenit striker Sardar Azmoun as a possible replacement for Federico Chiesa, while Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes is an option in midfield.

The Bianconeri are willing to replace their injured star in January and Azmoun, 27, has been identified as a possible replacement for Chiesa.

Azmoun is a centre forward and his contract with Zenit expires at the end of the season. He has scored ten goals in 21 appearances so far this season.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Juventus have already contacted Zenit. The deal is possible given that the Bianconeri can’t afford big-money signings in the January transfer window.

However, Zenit need to find a replacement before giving the green light to Azmoun’s move to Turin.

Juventus are also looking for midfield reinforcement and according to Goal.com’s Romeo Agresti, Lyon star Bruno Guimaraes is among the Old Lady’s targets.

Talks with the Ligue 1 side have already begun, but the Brazilian’s contract expires in June 2024 and Lyon value their centre midfielder at €45m, so the Serie A giants could only afford to get the player on loan with an option to buy.

Guimaraes scored two of his three Lyon goals against Juventus in 2019-20, causing the Bianconeri’s elimination from the Champions League Round of 16.

  1. Mandragora have done well whenever I’ve seen him play, not sure what his contract situation with Juve and Torino is like but I think he deserves a chance if Juve still owns him.

  2. How is Azmoun a replacement for Chiesa? He’s literally just a striker who can’t play anywhere beside that position. A replacement for Morata maybe, but Chiesa? A winger? Where do these reports come from?
