Juventus are not willing to give up on troubled talent Mohamed Ihattaren and are planning to slot him into their ‘Next Gen’ squad.

Things have not been easy for the Dutch forward following his €1.9m move from PSV to the Bianconeri in August 2021. After a disastrous six-month loan spell with Sampdoria, he returned to the Netherlands with Ajax for 2022 before leaving at the end of last year, having made just one appearance.

Ihattaren has dealt with various legal troubles in recent months, being arrested in November for allegedly making threats and then being arrested again in February for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend.

The 21-year-old Dutchman returned to Turin and resumed training with Juventus last month and has been working on building up his fitness ever since.

The Bianconeri continue to believe in him, TuttoJuve reports, and are thinking about including him in their Next Gen squad to allow him to take to the pitch again before possibly promoting him to Massimiliano Allegri’s first team.
