Juventus have picked up two injury concerns following their impressive 3-0 win over Como in Serie A on Monday night, as Timothy Weah and Khephren Thuram have both been struck down by the same muscular issue.
Juventus lose Weah and Thuram to same injury issue
Juventus had plenty of reasons to celebrate on Monday night after laying on an exciting display at home in Thiago Motta’s first Serie A match in charge of the club. But there was a slight dampener when Weah had to be replaced at the half-time break.
Though he grabbed Juve’s second with a thumping effort in off the crossbar, Weah looked like he had pulled up with a hamstring issue a few moments prior.
It appears that new signing Khephren Thuram suffered a similar issue shortly afterwards, and he was subsequently replaced by Nicolo Fagioli after 67 minutes.
According to Tuesday’s updates, both Weah and Thuram have suffered low-grade lesions in their thighs after reporting for medical tests on Tuesday morning. The problem is in Weah’s right leg and in Thuram’s left.
Both of them will report back for a second round of tests mid-way through next week. Calciomercato adds that it typically takes around two to three weeks to return to full fitness after that sort of strain.
