Juventus captain Danilo was forced off the pitch for Brazil during a World Cup qualifier against Venezuela after suffering an apparent muscle injury.

The 32-year-old defender, who was officially handed the captain’s armband in the summer after Leonardo Bonucci’s move to Union Berlin, has played every available minute for the Bianconeri this season, taking part in all eight games.

Danilo featured incredibly heavily for Juventus last season, seeing over 4600 minutes of action across 54 appearances. He appeared in every match except two, which were due to yellow card suspensions.

As highlighted by Gianluca Di Marzio, Danilo was forced to come off in the 42nd minute of Brazil’s World Cup qualifier with Venezuela after suffering a muscle injury.

He told the media after the match: “’I know my body, as soon as it happened, I knew I was hurt. I won’t be there against Uruguay.”

Juventus are now at risk of being without Danilo for their first game back after the international break, when they’ll face Milan on October 22.
