Juventus are hoping to see the true Tiago Djalo following his anonymous start to life at the club and are considering loaning him out for the upcoming season.

The 24-year-old Portuguese defender joined the Bianconeri from Lille in the January transfer window in a deal worth around €5.1m. He arrived off the back of a cruciate ligament rupture which kept him sidelined for over 300 days, having last played football in March of last year.

Djalo only made one appearance for Juventus in his first half-season in Turin, playing 16 minutes of the final game of the season against Monza after finally building up some match fitness. His contract with the club lasts until June 2026 and contains an option for a further two years.

Juventus consider Djalo loan

Page 31 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how Juventus are seriously considering the idea of loaning out Djalo this summer in order to allow him to feature regularly and gain match fitness ahead of a return to Thiago Motta’s squad.

A destination still needs to be found for the 24-year-old defender, but for now a stay in Turin is looking unlikely.

  1. 5.1m wasted. No deal under Giuntoli has impressed me. Anyway the ex directors had the worst purchase in the history, V9, Chiesa, Kean, Loca
