With Mattia De Sciglio out for the rest of the season with a serious knee injury, Juventus could turn to NextGen talent Tommaso Barbieri.

The Bianconeri have already shown throughout the campaign that they can pluck young players from their Serie C squad and launch them regularly into the senior team.

De Sciglio will be out for several months after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his knee, leaving only Juan Cuadrado for the right wing.

Max Allegri may well therefore have to dig into the NextGen side for more reinforcements going into the end of the campaign, where they are pushing for a top four finish in Serie A and will play Sevilla in the Europa League semi-final.

Barbieri has already made his debut for the senior squad, starting the 1-0 Serie A defeat to Sassuolo on April 16, and made a brief appearance in the Champions League loss to PSG in November.

Although primarily a right-back, the 20-year-old can also play on the left flank, making him a valuable tactical replacement for the equally versatile De Sciglio.
