Juventus look set to lose target Kostic

After weeks of links with Serie A clubs, above all Juventus, it is now reported that Filip Kostic will sign a new contract at Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 29-year-old winger can play on the left or right, making him a versatile option for Max Allegri in Turin.

His current deal is due to expire in June 2023 and it has been suggested for many weeks that he had agreed personal terms with Juventus.

However, now Sport1 in Germany claim that Kostic has bored of waiting for the Bianconeri to make their move and has decided to instead sign a new contract to remain with Eintracht Frankfurt.

That would be with a salary worth €5m per season, improving the €3.8m per year deal he had been on until now, and extending to June 2026.

Roma had also been linked with Kostic, but Juventus quickly emerged as the favourites for the Serbia international’s signature.

Last season, Kostic scored seven goals and provided 15 assists in his 43 competitive matches for Eintracht Frankfurt.
