Weston McKennie did not have a positive end to life with Leeds United, being booed off the pitch and insulted by fans in what’ll almost certainly be his last appearance for the club.

The 24-year-old American midfielder joined the English side on a six-month loan deal with a €35m buy option attached but failed to make a strong impression across his 20 appearances for the club. He was unable to help them avoid relegation from the Premier League.

McKennie is now set to return to Turin in the summer, returning to Juventus. He is contracted to the Old Lady until 2025 and could be sold in the upcoming summer transfer window.

As highlighted by TMW, McKennie was taken off the pitch in the 60th minute of Leeds’ 4-1 loss to Tottenham, and the fans were quick to express their displeasure at his work.

The American midfielder was booed off and insults rained down from the stands, with some poking fun at his weight and telling him to leave the club.
