Juventus are interested in RB Salzburg defender Strahinja Pavlovic after Jakub Kiwior’s move to Arsenal: ‘It’s an honour,’ said the Serbia international.

The Bianconeri had scouted Kiwior for a long time before his €25m move to Arsenal, which was confirmed during the weekend.

Gazzetta confirms the Bianconeri are now keeping tabs on Pavlovic who seems open to joining the Bianconeri in the summer.

Juventus are long-time admirers of the 21-year-old and watched him in action when he was playing for Partizan.

“There was an interest from Juventus, but I’ve never been to Turin,” the defender told Gazzetta.

“Juventus are a top club, it’s always an honour when your name is linked to such an important club, but I am focused on Salzburg at the moment.

“We want to do well in the league, the domestic cup and Europa League. Let’s see what the future has in store.”

Should he complete a move to Juventus over the summer, Pavlovic would reunite with his compatriot Dusan Vlahovic in Turin.

“He is a friend of mine. We talk a lot and we’ve spent a lot of time together while on international duty,” said the defender.

“It’s always nice to play alongside him. I hope he recovers soon, Juventus need him.”

Pavlovic will be in Italy soon as Salzburg will face Roma in Europa League.

“Roma are an excellent team and have a top coach in José Mourinho.

“Given my role, I’ll have to face big players such as Paulo Dybala and Tammy Abraham. I respect the Giallorossi, but we believe in ourselves and we are aware we can make it.”

Pavlovic has a long-term deal with RB Salzburg given that his contract expires in June 2027. He has played 19 games across all competitions this season and was part of Serbia’s national team at the World Cup in Qatar.
