Aaron Ramsey will not join the Juventus squad on their pre-season tour in the United States, remaining in Turin as contract termination talks continue.
The 31-year-old Welsh midfielder returned from an adequate loan spell with Rangers recently and showed up as usual in Turin to join the squad for the pre-season retreat, but he’s not expected to be brought on the US tour.
Calciomercato.com details how Juventus are still in talks with Ramsey’s entourage to try and agree a contract termination, ending his ties to Turin a year early. The one year remaining on his contract would cost the Bianconeri €7m plus add-ons, so they’re cut to cut ties this summer.
Juventus have offered €2m as severance compensation, but the 31-year-old Welshman would is asking for €4m. The Old Lady are hoping the upcoming World Cup in Qatar will convince Ramsey to move fast in order to find a club where he’ll receive sufficient playing time in the run up to Wales’ campaign.
Of course they do, they’re working to end his contract, so why play him?
Let him rot in the reserves.
He values playing for Wales more than for the club that pay him.
If he has any sense to he would take the £2m, and play elsewhere. He will be earning money at his new club either way.
