Juventus’ Landucci punished after insulting Napoli coach Spalletti

Juventus assistant coach Marco Landucci has been punished by the Serie A sporting judge, who confirmed that there was no evidence of racism in Lazio’s loss to Torino.

The Bianconeri assistant coach was furious with the officiating in the team’s 1-0 loss to Napoli on Saturday and tensions reached a boiling point when he spoke to Luciano Spalletti, insulting him and threatening to ‘eat his heart out’. The Napoli coach did not react and simply disappeared to the dressing room.

There were also rumours that some Lazio fans had racially abused Yann Karamoh and Wilfried Singo during the 1-0 loss to Torino.

The Serie A sporting judge announced his decisions regarding the 31st round of Serie A matches, confirming that none of the FIGC inspectors heard any racist abuse in Lazio’s loss to Torino. The Biancocelesti were fined €5000 for throwing bottles, however.

Landucci was fined €5000 and given a one-match ban for his confrontation with Spalletti, forcing him to miss Juventus’ next game against Bologna.
