Atalanta’s Giacomo Bonaventura is keeping his feet on the ground amidst talk of a future with Juventus and the Italian national side.

The 23-year-old has had an impressive campaign with the Bergamo outfit which has led to suggestions of a move to a higher level.

“It’s obvious that, like everyone else, I’m preparing myself for a big club,” the player who is contracted until 2016 told Tuttosport.

“A big team will give you the opportunity to win trophies, but the affection of people here is incredible and celebrating survival would be like lifting a Cup.

“Juventus? I supported them as a boy and Alessandro Del Piero was my idol. However, there is a big difference between talk of a transfer and one actually occurring.”

The midfielder is also understood to be on the radar of Italy boss Cesare Prandelli who has shown that age is not an issue in his selections.

“He looks at form, while I have to just think about improving and becoming more consistent,” he explained.

“When you are young and you play well then you do think about Italy. But you have to prove that you are good enough because the national side is something serious.”

The former Pergocrema and Padova man has scored six goals in 25 League games this term.
