Tottenham Hotspur have for months been linked with Weston McKennie, but the investigation into Juventus finances is going to make negotiations extremely awkward, as Fabio Paratici is blamed for many of their problems.

The Bianconeri are at the centre of absolute chaos at the moment, as they are under investigation for alleged financial mismanagement from the FIGC, the public prosecutor in Turin and UEFA.

Wiretapped conversations are being released to the press and many of them have a common theme, specifically current directors Maurizio Arrivabene and Federico Cherubini blaming Paratici for many of the deals under investigation.

Considering Paratici left in July 2021 to take on a new role at Tottenham and was replaced by his former assistant Cherubini, that could make upcoming talks extremely awkward.

USA international McKennie has completed his World Cup campaign and is on the market in January, largely because he is on a contract until June 2025 worth €2.5m per season.

He will also get much less playing time once Paul Pogba returns from injury.

  1. Nothing to feel awkward about. The backstreet bootleggers of Europe have been caught playing dice games again. Who would be shocked. Caught with their pants down once again and I am sure a third time is a tripleta charm.
