Former Italy CT Cesare Prandelli believes Juventus and Inter both showed “fear” in the Derby d’Italia.
The pair played out a 0-0 draw at San Siro last night, and while the ex-Fiorentina Coach believes both with challenge for the Scudetto, he nonetheless sees problems.
“Even the greats have fear,” Prandelli wrote in his column for Calciomercato.
“That’s how we can summarise the match played between Inter and Juventus, which showed that both teams are still searching for the right formula.

“I think the Nerazzurri and the Bianconeri will compete for the Scudetto, but at the moment they rely too much on individuality.
“[Juventus Coach Massimiliano] Allegri has decided to bet on the skill of [Juan] Cuadrado in one-on-one situations, but there’s too little interaction with the midfield.
“Mancini focused specifically on the quality of [Stevan] Jovetic to work between the lines and create numerical superiority.”
Prandelli was more impressed with Napoli and Fiorentina, but defends former Partenopei Coach Rafa Benitez.
“I was decidedly more impressed by the quality of play from Napoli and Fiorentina, two teams that offer a new football, and already have a well-defined philosophy.
“[Marek] Hamsik had a great game in midfield, having been reawakened by [Coach Maurizio] Sarri. This gives me the opportunity to return to the eternal debate about Benitez that has been going on in recent years.
“I don’t like this typically Italian massacre, where a Coach is spoken badly of as soon as he is gone.
“He’s a Coach who has done great things by bringing in an international mindset, and he deserves more respect.
“That being said, Hamsik is a complete midfielder who can give his best in a midfield two or three, but he doesn’t have the attributes to play a role as complicated as the central playmaker in a 4-2-3-1.”
