Juventus are the only non-Premier League club to break into the top 10 list of net transfer expenses since the 2018-19 season.
The Bianconeri are no stranger to investing heavily into their squad in order to give them the best chance of success, paying Fiorentina around €81m for Dusan Vlahovic and €60m total for Federico Chiesa, €50m total for Torino’s Gleison Bremer and €85m for Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt in recent years.
Despite their spending, Juventus have started to slip down the pecking order in Serie A following their dominant decade and off-pitch issues have further thrust them into chaos.
As detailed by the CIES Football Observatory, Juventus have a net transfer spending of -€337m since the 2018-19 season, making them ninth in the overall last and making them the only non-Premier League club in the top 10.
Four of the last five years have seen them make losses, with the worst being the -€103m in 2018-19 and -€164m in 2021-22. Their only positive year was the ongoing 2022-23 campaign, where they’ve earnt €42m.
The next highest Italian team on the list is Milan, who have a net transfer spending of -€227m since 2018-19.
