Juventus hope Newcastle will sign redundant Ramsey next month

Juventus are hoping that Newcastle will sign unneeded midfielder Aaron Ramsey in next month’s transfer window.

The 30-year-old Welshman, who is contracted to the Bianconeri until 2023 on a €7m annual salary, has struggled with injuries all season, playing only 112 minutes across the league and Champions League in the first half of the campaign.

As reported by Tuttosport, coach Massimiliano Allegri does not consider Ramsey to be part of his project in Turin and Juventus hope that the Saudi-backed Newcastle will sign the former Arsenal midfielder.

The Bianconeri do not want to keep the 30-year-old Welsh midfielder on their books but also have no intention of paying a large severance fee, so they’d be willing to let him leave on a free transfer next month should an interested club come calling.

Ramsey is currently back in Great Britain with his family for the Christmas break and the Turin side hope that they’ll be able to find a new home for him over the next few weeks, lightening up their wage bill a little.

Newcastle are interested in the former Arsenal man but it would not be a simple deal, especially considering his high wages and poor physical condition.
