Juventus Director General Giuseppe Marotta believes the Old Lady’s focus on Italians ‘adds value’ and helps the national team.
Speaking to Quotidiano Sportivo, Marotta spoke of his belief that home-grown talent helps win titles.
"Why do we focus on Italians? It adds value,” he said.
“Our ownership is Italian, we're Italian, and so having Italian players is good and I’d emphasise it three times over that it’s easier to win the Scudetto this way.

“They know how important it is, how to do it and how important it is to wear the Juventus shirt.
“We help the national team. When Leonardo Bonucci arrived he was a kid and today he’s an influential player for Juventus and the national team.
“The Italians are a lot more closely tied to the shirt than the foreigners, take the case of Tevez.
“It's unthinkable that a player of that calibre would tell us that he wants to go home. If Bonucci did that, he would go from Turin to Viterbo.
"My arrival at Juventus? It was the culmination of long and hard work that lasted decades.
“I remained at Sampdoria as I had a debt of gratitude to Riccardo Garrone. The arrival of Andrea Agnelli was decisive.”
