Mattia De Sciglio underwent a round of medical tests today which confirmed that he’s suffered a medium-degree injury to his right hamstring.

The 29-year-old Italian full back started in the Bianconeri’s 3-1 Champions League win over Maccabi Haifa last night but was forced off at half time, with Massimiliano Allegri bringing in Alex Sandro to replace him. Juventus scheduled a round of medical tests for De Sciglio a J-Medical this morning, which did not bring positive results.

As announced by Juventus, tests confirmed that De Sciglio has suffered a medium-degree injury to the rectus femoris of his right hamstring, a frustrating setback for the Italian. He will undergo further tests in around 10 days’ time, but he’s likely to be sidelined for a number of weeks.

The Bianconeri have had to manage a number of injuries throughout this season and the 29-year-old full back is the latest to be forced to the sidelines. The club are hoping to recover Federico Chiesa and Paul Pogba at some point before the World Cup break next month.
