Antonio Conte was in Turin, which prompted Juventus fans to beg for him to make a return to their club, especially as his Tottenham Hotspur contract is running down.

The coach still has a house in the city after spending much of his playing and management career with Juve.

Amid the break for the World Cup in Qatar, Conte has flown back to Turin and was spotted eating at one of his favourite restaurants.

Naturally, this prompted a strong response from Juve fans on Instagram, who wrote urging him to come back for good and take over from Max Allegri.

It is not impossible, especially as Conte has not yet committed his future to Spurs.

His contract only runs to the end of the season and negotiations for an extension seem to be at a standstill.

Conte took over at Tottenham from November 2021, having previously left Inter right after a Scudetto triumph, largely because their financial situation meant no reinforcements were imminent.

A similar problem is developing in North London, where the coach wants several big name signings.

  1. Humpty you should be manning the chip shop right now. Cod needs battering and spuds need peeling. Gonna need lots of fryer oil on standby as your Chipland FC went crashing out.

  2. As for Conte, these are the very same fans who wanted his star removed after he turned to Inter. It is also disrespectful to the Wizard of Max. The fans need to savour and relish the new impetus and champagne calcio she is slowly bringing back. With the books cooked, pants caught down, now is the time for consistency with the back back down down. Also PhD Max ain’t no quitter and stuck with his only hope through thick and thin.
