Juventus fans openly celebrate Ramsey exit

Juventus fans are celebrating after Aaron Ramsey finally terminated his contract with the club, ending four seasons dominated by injuries.

The Wales international had arrived as a free agent from Arsenal in the summer of 2019, but only managed to play 69 competitive matches for the club, for a grand total of under 3,000 minutes of football.

He still contributed six goals and six assists, but the fans online are openly celebrating the news Ramsey is off their books and taking the €7m salary with him.

“What mentality this club has, to distract us from the bad news of Paul Pogba’s injury, they terminated Ramsey’s contract,” wrote one supporter.

For the most part, they were just memes of parties, celebration and even photoshopping director Maurizio Arrivabene’s face onto the body of Cristiano Ronaldo after a goal.

The best reaction was looking back to a video from earlier this month, when a cheeky fan got Ramsey to put his autograph on a piece of paper that had ‘Contract Termination’ written on it.

Juventus didn’t find it quite so easy to achieve, as it’s reported they had to give him over €3m in severance pay to terminate the contract a year early.
